These were a mix of what clearly were covers for special covers and regular sports fronts. It's hard to judge them in the same universe, but since they're lumped in here, have to go with what we have here. And guess what: the special covers win!

The other entries have at least one or more flaws I consider fatal, ranging from simply being deadly dull, to insufficiently interesting visuals, to poor use of outdated drop shadows, typography and use of color.
